Hidden Treasures of Our Church #1

IMG_2127-Edit This lovely linden wood statue of St. Therese of Lisieux (The Little Flower) keeps silent vigil on the wall near the choir area of the 104th St. side of the church.

One of the most popular and beloved of all our saints, Therese is widely celebrated for the miraculous results of her famous promise:

“After my death, I will let fall a shower of roses. I will spend my heaven doing good upon earth. I will raise up a mighty host of little saints. My mission is to make God loved…”

More information on this fine example of Christian holiness can be found on the website of the Society of the Little Flower.
